CASA SEAT’s scheduled program for February features several musical events and a week-long dedication to Valentine’s Day with the “LoveWeek”, when the space will be specially decorated for the occasion and music will take centre stage.

On 14 February, singer Alex Ubago is giving a concert performing a repertoire of his best hits such as “Aunque no te pueda ver”, “Sin miedo a nada” and “A gritos de esperanza”. With a career spanning more than 20 years, the singer-songwriter began a Spanish tour in 2023 and released two new singles, “Idiota” and “No volveré a pensar en ti”, previews of a new album that will be released this year.

The Valentine’s Day celebrations will continue on Thursday the 15th with a special event for couples and singles alike. The event will be hosted by comedian Guillem Estadella and feature a DJ set by musician DJ Adri Martín. In addition, singles will get the chance to take part in activities to meet a soulmate.

A month of musical get-togethers

The musical agenda kicks off on the 2nd with a new Liceu Under 35 Meeting with the theatre’s artistic director, Víctor García de Gomar, who will be talking with soloists from the production of Un ballo in maschera to shed light on the ins and outs of this opera prior to its premiere.

On the 3rd, CASA SEAT will be hosting the live broadcast of the Benidorm Fest 2024 final on the ground floor with drag performer Clover Bish as master of ceremonies, offering a preshow with some of the festival’s past hits.

The following week on the 8th, Lucas Bun is giving a concert in the CASA SEAT auditorium in which he’ll perform some of his best known hits and present his new single. Influenced by artists such as Armando Manzanero, FKA twigs, Lole y Manuel and Sevdaliza, the singer fuses elements of electronica, folk, alternative R&B, flamenco and avant-garde pop, among others.

On Saturday the 10th, singer Belén Bandera and guitarist Carla Motis are staging a unique musical proposal in the auditorium in which they reinvent traditional jazz compositions from their own young perspective. Accompanied by double bass player Horacio Fumero, they will be offering versions of “Tea for two” by Doris Day, “El testament d’Amèlia” by Joan Manuel Serrat and “Dindi” by Tom Jobim, among other songs.

Indie pop touches down at CASA SEAT on the 17th with a live performance by the young Tarragona musician Eloi Duran, who will present his new EP El que veig quan miro. His work, between the singer-songwriter and electronic indie pop genres, captures his experiences over the last few years and the way he sees love.

On the 24th, the duo formed by singer Aura Mauri and pianist Biel Harper are visiting the auditorium to present their first album, Instants. The finalists of the Juventudes Musicales de España 2022 competition have toured stages such as the Jamboree and performed at festivals including Siarb Valley, Zona Jazz and Música en los Parques.

Finally, on the 26th, CASA SEAT and Radio Primavera Sound will host the premiere of Balla la masurca!, the new album by Guillem Gisbert, bandleader of the group Manel. During the event, the podcasters of Gent de Merda will be talking to the composer about his new album, which features some last singles such as “Les dues torres” and “Waltzing Matilda”.

Garage Takeover at CASA SEAT

Following its inauguration at the CUPRA City Garage in Milan, urban artist TvBoy’s exhibition Garage Takeover is coming to CASA SEAT on 12 February. The exhibition includes some of the most outstanding works by the artist, a CUPRA ambassador known for his provocative, contemporary art, such as portraits of FC Barcelona footballer Alexia Putellas and singer Rosalía.

On this occasion, and to celebrate Valentine’s Day at CASA SEAT, part of the Garage Takeover exhibition also showcases the theme of love, such as a contemporary reinterpretation of the myth of Cupid or the kiss between Nairobi and Tokyo from La Casa de Papel (Money Heist).

New dates with Comedy

After the success of the inauguration of CASA SEAT Comedy in January with the stand-up comedians Andrés Fajngold, Andrea Farina and Raquel Hervás, the second edition of the series arrives on the 23rd. With a new panel made up of three comedians,

In addition, this month returns the late-night show La Graella presented by Guillem Estadella, who will welcome the musical group The Tyets as special guests on February 28. The artists have broken all records with their album Èpic solete and will talk about their future projects in a show where there will be plenty of humour.

Literature and science with María Gómez, Paco Roca and Borja Vilaseca

As well as music, CASA SEAT’s February agenda will also include events dedicated to literature and science. On 9 February, psychologist and influencer María Gómez will present her first book, La buena compañía, which deals with the main areas of concern for people. Known for her podcast Croquis Mental, the author will talk with comedian and scriptwriter La Prados, and follow up by signing copies of her book.

On the 21st, a new edition of the “Literary Cafés” cycle will be held with Paco Roca and Rodrigo Terrassa. Paco Roca’s new graphic novel El abismo del olvido illustrates the story of José Celda, who was executed by firing squad in the Spanish post-war period, and Pepica Celda’s struggle to recover her father’s remains and restore his dignity. Roca will talk with his co-writer Rodrigo Terrasa about historical memory and the experiences of the thousands of Spaniards who were repressed after the end of the civil war in Spain.

Finally, Borja Vilaseca will be visiting the CASA SEAT auditorium on the 27th to present his latest book Ama tu soledad, a work intended as a therapeutic journey and as a process of social detoxification to deal with break-ups. The writer, journalist and professor is one of the Spanish-speaking leading voices in the field of self-knowledge, personal development and leadership, and his works have been translated and published in 23 countries, with more than 500,000 copies sold.
