Since then, CUPRA has been strengthening its bond with the continent’s fastest growing sport, positioning itself as a driving force in the evolution of the world of padel.

The ongoing collaboration with padel is highlighted in three ways: by expanding the CUPRA Padel Tribe, a group of talented young heroes for a new era that share the brand’s ambition to go out and win; by extending the brand’s sponsorship agreements with the International Padel Federation; and by fostering a new partnership with Premier Padel, the primary official professional padel circuit which will hold its inaugural European tournament in Brussels from April 22nd to 28th with CUPRA proudly in attendance.

“CUPRA and padel share values and aspirations that are represented in their competitive and challenging spirit, and both bring people together through passion, innovation, performance and emotions,” said Ignasi Prieto, Chief Brand Officer de CUPRA “We have been committed to padel since the beginning, and we have never stopped believing in its potential. Its current success all over the world proved us right, and CUPRA will continue to support padel with the ambition to make it an Olympic discipline.”

Resembling CUPRA’s journey, padel’s popularity and impact has soared in recent years, surpassing all sports in terms of interest in Europe and becoming the second most played sport in Spain. With 25 million players in more than 110 countries, there are over 50,000 padel courts worldwide. Today, CUPRA is the leading brand on the international padel scene, creating synergies with the biggest global competitions and the best players, as well as promoting the sport at its base supporting local clubs and competitions around the world.

The brand’s objective is clear –to propel the international evolution of padel. With the goal of making padel an Olympic discipline, CUPRA is actively contributing to shaping the sport’s future, partnering with the International Padel Federation and sponsoring the Premiere Padel, currently the main official professional padel circuit. In addition, the brand maintains its Padel Tribe, which features some of the brightest young padel stars in the world and also adds Bea González and Momo González as new brand ambassadors.

Pioneering the Padel Revolution

CUPRA stepped into the padel world in 2019 by becoming the premium sponsor of all official competitions of the World Padel Tour (WPT). The company’s commitment to the sport was grounded on the courts, as CUPRA has been partnering with clubs, sponsoring local and amateur tournaments, and supporting new talent since the beginning. Fostering the sport’s growth from a grassroots level is a priority for CUPRA’s padel strategy, as the brand places a lot of importance on building up a solid player base at the international level.

That’s why, in the last 5 years, over 20 CUPRA delegations in Europe and the rest of the world have organised tournaments, worked with federations and created official padel teams. This year, the brand is sponsoring over 20 international and 130 local tournaments in 14 countries, collaborating with 11 national federations and 140 clubs, and growing the CUPRA Padel Tribe.

The CUPRA Padel Tribe is a group of outstanding athletes that has played a pivotal role in reshaping the bond between CUPRA and padel. The team is eager to challenge the status quo and impulse padel to the next level together with CUPRA. Its members include the best young talents in the circuit, representing the rebellious and unconventional spirit of the brand and who are ready to become the new heroes for a new era.

CUPRA has announced its newest CUPRA ambassadors, Bea González, who ranks 4th in the FIP and competes alongside Delfina Brea, and Jerónimo “Momo” González, who ranks 9th in the FIP. They join a tribe formed by 10 ambassadors, that include players like Paula Josemaría and Ari Sánchez, the best female players in the world, and Alejandro Galán, currently in the Top 5 worldwide, who have been leading the team over the past years. Galán also happens to be the current partner of our other representative, Fede Chingotto, who, along with Sofía Araújo, Juan Tello and Javi Garrido, completes the diverse and skilled team that embodies the impulse of a new generation of dreamers.

Empowering the Padel Community

In a recent ground-breaking move, CUPRA has joined forces with RL9 Team, the padel squad led by renowned FC Barcelona football player Robert Lewandowski, to take on the Hexagon Cup. Organised by the creators of Formula E, this disruptive competition introduces a unique team structure, featuring squads led by sport icons and celebrities like Rafa Nadal and Eva Longoria. This collaboration, announced at CASA SEAT in the presence of all the players, marked a new chapter for CUPRA in the evolving landscape of padel.

CUPRA’s dedication extends beyond partnerships and collaborations. The introduction of the CUPRA Wilson LT Padel Racket, the third product born from the CUPRA-Wilson alliance, represents the brands’ ambition to empower the unconventional challengers in the world of sports. Crafted with an innovative design inspired by the rebellious spirit of the CUPRA UrbanRebel Racing Concept, this racket was made for a new generation of players seeking unrivaled performance on the court.

CUPRA’s padel strategy is a manifestation of its commitment to inspire, innovate and elevate the sport, contributing to the vibrant growth of padel on the international stage. With valuable partnerships and by actively participating in the development of innovative products, CUPRA has already left an indelible mark on the padel landscape. By embracing its unconventional spirit, the brand will continue boosting padel because, after years of collaboration, it is an integral part of the sport: CUPRA is PADEL, PADEL is CUPRA.
