CUPRA Next Gen Cup
CUPRA continues to promote the values of the next generation. After the success of the first edition of the CUPRA Next Gen Cup exactly one year ago, in just a few hours the brand will be gathering sports enthusiasts at the Camp Nou stadium for a football clash that defies convention. Two teams, one captained by CUPRA and FC Barcelona and the other led by well-known online streamer and presenter Ibai Llanos. The teams will first test their skills with the ball in an ability test circuit, and then in an epic 11 vs 11 match.
CUPRA, FC Barcelona and Ibai Llanos: a great football challenge at Camp Nou
Star-studded line-ups. The teams, with both male and female players, will feature well-known football personalities, players and legends, online streamers, digital sports platform representatives, journalists and CUPRA members. The CUPRA x Barça team consists of renowned football platforms such as 433, SOCCERBBIBLE, ONEFOOTBALL and BESTOFFOOTBALL. It also includes the king of free style Edward van Gils. Meanwhile, the Ibai & Friends group has assembled top streamers including DJMariio and Ander, while Ibai will broadcast the event together with different collaborators. In total, more than 40 players are ready to compete.
Inspiring the next generation. “With this tournament, the brand remains committed to the next generation of content creators, promoting emotional experiences that serve as a bridge to new technological and communication trends” says CUPRA Director of Strategy, Business Development and Operations Antonino Labate. In addition to having a team named after him, Ibai will broadcast the event live on his Twitch channel and it will also be available on Barça’s official YouTube channel. 15,000 free tickets have already been made available to employees and the general public through the FC Barcelona website.
An unconventional challenge. The first round of the tournament with the Skills Challenge will be new to this edition. This is a competition of football trick shots and skills where team members will face four challenges to earn points, which will include controlling a fast-moving ball with a single touch and getting the highest score by kicking the ball from the penalty line with an aim of hitting various targets set up in strategic positions on and around the goalie net. The team that demonstrates the most skill going into the next round will be awarded with a one-goal lead in the 11vs11.
