The year 2018 will be remembered as the beginning of the CUPRA era, the exclusive brand for unique people. The idyll with CUPRA started when it was presented in a exclusive event at the Autódromo de Terramar (Barcelona) with the launch of the first model of the new brand: the CUPRA Ateca, a powerful sports SUV that exemplifies the CUPRA spirit. Recently, we have celebrated our first year of life with the announcement of the first model with 100% CUPRA DNA, the concept car CUPRA Formentor.
This good relationship also embodies the spirit of motorsports with the CUPRA e-Racer, the first 100% electric tourism racing car in the world. One year since its birth, the reception of CUPRA - which is synonymous with sophistication and exclusivity - is exceeding all expectations. Sales in 2018 grew by 40% compared to last year, with 14,400 units sold.These results are a clear demonstration of the good reception experienced by the brand in the market. Our objective is to double these sales in the next three to five years. On the other hand, CUPRA already has its own reserved space in over 200 especially selected SEAT dealers all over the world.
Now we wish to continue consolidating this great brand, which is winning over the most demanding motor lovers. We wish to continue on the good path we started in 2018.
