European engineering students meet in Montmeló

Beginning today until Sunday, the Circuit de Catalunya at Montmeló will be the venue for another edition of the Formula Student. This university competition comes back to Spain for the second time, again with SEAT as its main sponsor. The car manufacturer is providing 20 judges for the competition (organized by the STA (Sociedad de Técnicos de Automoción/Automotive Technicians’ Association) as well as a support truck with specialized personnel, exhibition cars, plus organized presentations and miscellaneous activities.

 

SEAT has also collaborated with the Terrassa Higher Technical College of Industrial and Aeronautical Engineering (ETSEIAT) in the development of a vehicle, as well as sponsoring the car entered by the Barcelona Higher Technical College of Industrial Engineers (ETSEIB).

 

The Formula Student is an engineering competition bringing together students to compete in the design, development, construction and driving of a single-seater racing car.  This year the Montmeló racing circuit will welcome 450 students organised into 22 teams (10 more than in 2010) from 7 countries – Spain, Germany, Italy, Romania,...
