  • SEAT reinforces presence in Portugal and Mexico

    SEAT takes another step towards strengthening its international presence. The Spanish company is reinforcing its structure in two key markets - Mexico and Portugal - with the appointment of new managing directors.


    César Cancela (Mexico, 1962) has been appointed as SEAT’s new Managing Director for Portugal. Cancela will be in charge of the Portuguese market, a significant one for the Spanish brand and a key one for growth. He will begin on October 1st 2011, moving from his current post as Managing Director of SEAT Mexico.

     

    SEAT has been in the Portuguese market since 2003. Under the joint leadership of Teresa Lameiras and João Costa Pinto, SEAT’s market share has doubled, jumping from an initial 3.0% to today’s 6.0%. With Costa Pinto due to retire, SEAT is tightening management structure by introducing a single managing director. Lameiras will thus take on board further functions, adding Human Resources to her current responsibility for the strategic Marketing & Communication & Public Relations and Training areas.
