Dr. Stefan Loth, new head of Martorell production plant
Dr. Stefan Loth (Wolfsburg, Germany, 1967) has been appointed new head of the SEAT Martorell production facility, with effect from 1st December. Dr. Loth takes over from Juan Ramón Rodríguez, who moves to the newly-created post of head of SEAT foreign production management. Both will report to Dr. Andreas Tostmann, Vice-president for Production.
Holding a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Braunschweig, the new head of the Martorell production plant has a long track record in the car industry. After carrying out academic research, in 1997 he joined the Ford plant at Cologne, where over a period of eight years he held various posts of responsibility in the areas of engine assembly, cost optimisation and vehicle testing, until in 2005 he was appointed head of bodywork and presses.
In 2006 Dr. Loth joined the production area of the Volkswagen Group, where he stayed for two years until moving on to the department of Industrial Engineering. Dr. Loth returned to production in 2010, where he stayed until the present time.
